The Women's Place Resource Center is dedicated to being a place for women to come together, share, learn, experience, express and grow |
Services available at the Center include:
Research: As a Center dedicated to the empowerment of women in our communities, we have engaged our staff, external consultants and the broader community in research that will positively impact policies that in turn impact women including pensions.
Space to Gather: The board room is available for women to use to gather, share and learn from one another. The space may be booked during regular office hours. Limit of ten. Please call to arrange a booking. FREE.
Resources: The staff at the center are available to provide information on resources, peer support, referrals to appropriate community services and organizations, and offer programs that empower and support women.
Programs: The Center offers a variety of programs throughout the year reflecting requests from the community, depending on available funding and resources. Please contact us or watch for further details.
Projects: We carry out special projects based on grants and proposals around various women centred issues. These are most often in collaboration with other community organizations and agencies.
Peer Support: Although we do not offer therapeutic counseling, we offer a safe space for supportive listening, problem solving and crisis response.
Frances Mills-Clements Bursary: This bursary is awarded annually to a woman within the community (Kings and Annapolis) desiring to move forward to post-secondary education, regardless of age.
About our Quick Exit button: We understand that sensitive topics or seeking help can sometimes be difficult or even dangerous, especially in situations where your safety might be compromised. We’ve implemented the Quick Exit button on our website, designed to provide an immediate and discreet way for you to leave our website if needed, and help keep you safe while browsing the Women's Place Resource Centre. When you click the Quick Exit button, a new page will load and our website will be replaced.
